A bit about my work

At the heart of my approach is a deep respect for your inner world and your innate resilience. I offer therapy that is nonjudgmental, culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and collaborative. Your goals will be our North Star and we will be guided by cues from your mind, emotions, body and soul.

My approach is grounded in Gestalt, existential, and humanistic traditions. In basic terms, we will bring attention to what’s happening now, internally and between us, so that old patterns can become visible and new possibilities can emerge. We’ll explore the many different parts of you and how past experiences, relationships, intergenerational wounds, and societal messages have shaped you. Sometimes we may choose to use movement, dreams, art, the natural world and spirituality to deepen this exploration. If this sounds intimidating, know that I aim to create a contained, supportive space and we will go at a pace that is comfortable for you. And while therapy can be hard, we will also laugh, celebrate and always stay rooted in your strengths, values and agency.

In part, our work together is about reducing symptoms, and I will certainly incorporate practical strategies and help you build out your “toolbox.” But our work is also about restoring your capacity to live a life that you value, strengthening your contact with your inner knowing, trading reactivity for choice, and growing into the most authentic expression of yourself.

I work with adults and adolescents of all identities, as well as couples and families of all configurations. Some issues that I can support with include:

  • Anxiety or depression

  • Enduring impacts of a difficult childhood and/or intergenerational trauma

  • Grief and loss

  • Life transitions

  • Relational challenges

  • Feeling lost, dissatisfied, or disconnected

  • Self-esteem

  • Lack of clarity around role or purpose, especially for men

  • Parenting and postpartum

A bit about me

I am a white, Jewish ciswoman, originally from New York. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in nonprofits focused on criminal justice and economic mobility. I completed my Master’s in Counseling Psychology at the Wright Institute and my clinical practicum at a community mental health clinic in Alameda County. In addition to working at Blue Oak, I also work at a mental health crisis stabilization center in Oakland where I facilitate groups and see individual clients.
